Queens Nursing Institute Catalysts for Change Programme
Lesley Ferguson, Community Charge Nurse, and Jill Jones, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, from NHS Fife were successful in their application to the QNIS Catalyst for Change Programme for funds to pilot The Decider Skills for people with learning disabilities.  The Decider skills are evidence based skills drawn from CBT and DBT, and the aim is to teach these skills to people so they can live a ‘skillful,  less impulsive life’.    The project involves People First Scotland as a partner, which is an organization run by people with LD to campaign for the human rights of people with LD.  The first part of the project will involve a coproduction group who will help advise about ensuring the skills teaching is appropriately accessible for people with LD.  The second part of the project will involve an evaluated pilot group.  The project is due to start in early 2020.
