Learning Disability and Equal Health

People with learning disabilities may experience health inequalities for a number of reasons.  Scotland has been developing and implementing strategies to improve the health of people with learning disabilities since 2011, including the Keys to Life policy and implementation plan. 

NHS Education Scotland (NES) have developed an educational framework on health equalities for people with learning disabilities, which takes a human rights based approach.

The Learning Disability MCN “Introduction to Learning Disability and Health Equality” course is based around this framework and uses the following resources:
